“Our Veterans and their families need a HEART and a hand up, not a handout”

Inland Empire Veterans Stand Down is a nonprofit organization that was conceived in 2006 after witnessing nearly one thousand men, women and their children, homeless, dispirited, disheveled, sleeping in inhabitable, unclean locations in San Diego. After, an extensive view of how homeless individuals thrived; we could not ignore the call to duty so they went back to Riverside and became incorporated in 2007 by its Cofounders Leroy H. Huff MSGY SGT, USMC Ret., President and Kismet Evans, Executive Director who were stirred and with a mission and passion to serve veterans.

 It is our hope that we share and gain new knowledge and perspective, ignite fresh ideas, create new strategies, discover new resources, that lead to new partnerships and collaborations in order to increased a holistic change for the thousands of homeless veterans and their families within the Riverside-San Bernardino County areas.
